The Votivkirche (Votive Church)

26 Nov

The Votivkirche was officially re-opened today with a celebratory mass. The extensive renovations, inside and out, have been going on for a quarter of a century.

You know, in all my years in Vienna, even though I was regularly at the Schottentor tram stop, I don’t think I ever went in to the Votivkirche! I don’t know why; I visited probably every other church in the city!
